the state of the world
here is a mass of text that i need to format and add on to, but here it is…
The world as we know it is in a fragile state, the five major cities continue their painful inaction as they seek an opening in the others’ defenses that will not show itself. The tension in the north is palpable as Whitehold’s famous aggression remains bridled only by the attitude of king stark. He is beginning to lose his popularity as the kingdom that he inherited from his father begins to stagnate as he refuses to exercise his power and claim more for land and resources for the kingdom, a growing movement is beginning in whitehold with several of the larger houses playing a veritable “game of thrones” as they anticipate king stark’s inevitable fall. The houses Bane, Sampson and spencer are the primary contenders to scoop up the crown before it even reaches the ground. Mistwater is at a tentative ease due to this situation, they receive a temporary reprieve from whitehold’s historic advances, however it is apparent that a change in leadership will release all of this tension akin to a bow that has been drawn too long, and depending on the archer that releases the projectile of whitehold’s might, the blow may be devastating. Ward Clawthorne stands at the head of most political dealings within mistwater as well as having a degree of influence over their military. He has been in charge for a long while now, repeatedly being elected and accept by the public at large. Due to its open-mindedness mistwater has its fair share of oddities. Sorin Heartwell, the ambassador from the fallen city of drywood has established his influence in the city, insuring that his city is protected from the violent mass that is timberford. Several members of the Morell family have seated themselves in the upper tiers of mistwater’s political circle, they are accompanied by a financial advisor of almost inhuman savvy named Anton Price, he is the owner of a large metal refinement business and handles a great deal of the economic troubles in mistwater. The intense rivalry between the Morell family and the Marshall family has only grown more heated as their offspring have proven to be equally impressive. The young Liam Morrel is known to control a great deal of unsavory dealings, but he keeps his hands clean to the public and is remarkably talented in all manner of ways. It is said the only thing sharper than his blade is his tongue. On the Marshall side a pair of twins was born shortly after Liam and have made a name for themselves in the scholarly world. Aiden and Sarah have both already demonstrated incredible intellectual ability and are expected to bring the University of Mistwater to a whole other level when they come of age. These youths are simply a representation of the next generation of mistwater citizens and promise an interesting future. Currently the military of mistwater remains largely idle, simply waiting for the tension with whitehold to snap. However to the south there is an effort put forward by Sorin to protect the city of drywood from timberfalls violent clashes. This has been accomplished by enacting a conscript of sorts promising gold and pardons to prisoners or otherwise who are willing to sign away years of their life to remain on the front, promising freedom when or if they serve their term. To the south of mistwater lies timberford, a violent mass of conflict and death, kept unified only by the overwhelming strength of whatever faction may be in power at the time. This city is undisputedly has the strongest military might however all of their numerous attempts at offensives end as little more than a disjointed mess as the leadership tends to fall apart as the military distances itself from its current core, a woman named Olivier Mustang, a brute of a woman with a sharp it and an ungodly strength, she has kept timberford in check for the past 10 years. Should someone be foolish enough to attack timberford without an army of unimaginable strength they would undoubtedly be repelled with ease by the sheer might that pulses within the city but this power is incapable of extending beyond the walls. To the west is windfall, a decidedly neutral party has attempted to distance themselves from the ever looming threat of whiteholds might. Somewhat fortunately placed near the passive mistwater and the woefully militaristic silvertide windfall enjoys a tentative safety. The city until 25 years ago was a lawless gathering of vagabonds and ruffians, that is until Drayl Windforged arrived, a wayward orphan Drayl stumbled upon the disaster that was windfall in his teenage years and has through brute charisma and wit managed to sustain windfall as it is today. Should drayl meet his demise prior to finding a more permanent solution than his constant interference or a worthy successor the city would inevitably fall to ruin. The city as it stands today is no primrose to be sure, but to more than a few people it is the home that they could never have imagined. the quality of living ranges wildly from one end to the other, but it is uncommon for one of able body to fail to scrounge a living, due to the loose political restrictions the city is a hub of underworld activity and a very popular meeting place for people from around the world to commit their unsavory trades. Several years ago silvertide saw the unstable windfall as a suitable target to increase their foothold in this world where so much greater military might exists. General merton order a contingent of troops numbering only several hundred to march on windfall and prepare the city for a larger scale invasion. Windfalls connections easily detected this plan long before its fruition and sent a small team of only twenty or so soldiers to wait in the city then called the whitepass. Upon arriving the silver tide army was absolutely anhilated by a squadron led by penn hunt and backed up by the formidable sorcerer varn roseclaw. Somehow the horrible events that transpired that day forever tainted the land, and to this day the originally glorious white fauna that covered the terrain has been died a sanguine crimson. This city is now known as rosepass. Finally to the south west lies silvertide, a coastal city that has a debilitating plague of greed. The city is a machine and that machine runs on money, politics are simply a front for more mercantile gains, even the military is contracted by a coalition of richer organizations to serve as protection for their city. Every action taken by a member of their game is motivated only by money and has been since the city’s conception.
